HC Vesperian Rallye

The HC Vesperian Rallye is the fourth car design by Hewitt Cherry. It is a concept car and rally car, which is designed to be fully compliant with the World Rally Championship WRC27 dimensional regulations, and is meant to compete in and win in rally stages and races, on gravel courses, dirt tracks, paved roads, through ice and snow, over jumps, and in any conditions, as well as being road legal.

Design

The HC Vesperian Rallye is designed to be an agile, durable, and fast rally car, capable of competing and winning in a variety of different conditions and environments, while simultaneously being road legal. The car is designed with as short of a wheelbase as is allowed by the World Rally Championship WRC27 dimensional regulations, to allow for more agility and better cornering performance. The HC Vesperian Rallye also has a rear diffuser, two front diffusers, which outlet to either side of the car, a front splitter, and a significant rear spoiler, designed to provide reliable and consistent downforce. The car also has multiple LED headlights to provide exceptional visibility at night.

The HC Vesperian Rallye is all wheel drive. The car has two distinct all wheel drive powertrain options.

The fully electric version of the HC Vesperian Rallye is powered by 4 electric motors, each electric motor independently powering each wheel. This powertrain option features all wheel torque vectoring, as well as regenerative braking from all 4 electric motors. The electric version of the HC Vesperian Rallye does not have an air intake mounted on the top of the cockpit, as it has no need for one.

The other powertrain option for the HC Vesperian Rallye features a rear mid engined 1.6-liter Turbocharged Inline-4 engine, which is compliant with the World Rally Championship WRC27 regulations. This powertrain option is all wheel drive, and this version of the HC Vesperian Rallye has an air intake mounted on the top of the cockpit, which serves as an air intake for the engine as well as a cooling inlet for the intercoolers.

The HC Vesperian Rallye has double wishbone front and rear suspension, with Heavy-duty long travel coilovers, designed to handle all types of terrain. The car utilizes a large front cooling inlet to feed its radiators, which primarily vent through cooling outlets on either side of the rear of the front wheel arches. The HC Vesperian Rallye also has large cooling outlets at the rear of the car, which provide additional venting for the radiators in the electric version, while providing venting for the intercoolers and serving as the location of the engine exhaust for the internal combustion engine version. The car also utilizes twin front cooling ducts which are located directly next to each of the lower front headlights, which serve as headlight cooling as well as air conditioning intakes for the cockpit.

The HC Vesperian Rallye is designed to be lightweight, durable, and in compliance with the World Rally Championship WRC27 regulations. The car is designed to have 2 seats, and both the driver and the passenger are sat low in the car. The HC Vesperian Rallye is 165 inches (419.1 cm) long, 72 inches (182.88 cm) wide, and 50.4 inches ( 128.016 cm) tall.

Design Process

The design of the HC Vesperian Rallye started out several months ago as an idea to design an elegant sports car that was compliant with the newly released World Rally Championship WRC27 regulations. Hewitt Cherry then began sketching the design idea, extensively revising and improving upon it, integrating aerodynamic elements and stylish features in an elegant and sleek design. He then set about modeling the design. Hewitt Cherry designed the HC Vesperian Rallye in CAD software. He then rendered the CAD model to create high quality images and videos of the HC Vesperian Rallye. The HC Vesperian Rallye was completed and published in April, 2026.
